A MINFRA project is not a folder of files with a viewer bolted on. It is the capture, the measurements taken from it, the documents that belong to it, and every previous visit to the same ground.
Survey data is expensive to produce and cheap to waste. The usual failure is not the flying or the processing — it is what happens after handover, when a folder of GeoTIFFs and LAS files reaches a team with no GIS desk. The capture gets looked at once, a screenshot ends up in a slide deck, and the next time anyone needs a number they measure it again by hand.
MINFRA exists because we kept watching that happen to our own deliverables. It was built for UNITOS’s delivery before it was ever sold as a product, which is why it is organised around the questions site teams actually ask rather than around what a GIS package is capable of.
What a project holds
Everything from one capture, in one place, tied to the same reference.
- Orthomosaic
- The site as a single georeferenced image, tiled so it opens at any zoom without downloading the whole capture.
- Digital terrain and surface models
- Elevation as data rather than a picture, which is what makes volumes, profiles and contours possible later.
- Point cloud
- The full-density LAS, streamed as an octree so it opens in a browser rather than needing a workstation.
- Vectors
- Boundaries, parcels, assets and classifications, reprojected to a common reference so layers actually line up.
- Documents
- Lease papers, statutory plans and reports, kept with the survey they belong to rather than in a separate drive.
- History
- Every previous capture of the same site, so this month can be compared against last month rather than described.
Who opens it

- Measure benches, plan haul roads, and reconcile what moved against what was reported.

- An independent number for volume and progress, from a survey nobody on either side of the claim produced by hand.

What you are not tied to
The honest version of a platform pitch.
Everything in a project is stored in open formats — cloud-optimised GeoTIFF for imagery and elevation, COPC for point clouds, GeoJSON on EPSG:4326 for vectors. If you stop using MINFRA, the data is still readable by QGIS, ArcGIS, or anything else that speaks those formats.
That is deliberate. A platform that holds your survey hostage is a platform you have to keep paying whether or not it earns it, and we would rather earn it.
