The challenge
Lloyds needed viable ground for a beneficiation plant and a tailing dam to support future expansion of the Surjagarh iron ore mine.
Our approach
RTK-based mapping across the lease, then three candidate dam sites modelled in 3D against the drainage pattern, so capacity and retaining wall could be compared before any ground was broken.
The outcome
Three dam options modelled with extent, storage volume and retaining wall dimensions for each: 93.1 ha holding 113.5 MT, 46.23 ha holding 73.39 MT, and 39.03 ha holding 21.42 MT.
